Robert (Bob/Bobby) L Brown, age 78, of Akron was called home to heaven on Saturday, February 14, 2026 after fighting an illness for a short time. He was born in August of 1947 in Akron, OH to Frank Brown and Virginia Summerville. He married his best friend and love of his life, Regina (Impy) Brown, in 1965; they just celebrated their 60th anniversary last year.
Bob served proudly in the United States Navy and he retired from the City of Akron where he worked in the water department.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tony Brown Sr, mother-in-law, Tressa Brady, and "Our" Nannie.
Bob is survived by his wife, Regina (Impy) Brown, his two sons, Michael Brown (Lisa) and Charlie Brown (Kitty) and his daughter, Kimberly Garner (Bernie), his seven grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Alex Brown (Kaylyne), Kassie Brown, and Amanda Toth (Logan), Nick Ashmore (Gina), Claire Keefer, and Colin Keefer, his six great grandchildren, sister, Helen Simich, sister-in-law, Barbara Farling and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bob was always a kid at heart, faithful, and very proud of his family. He was always there to lend a helpful hand, offer advice or give words of encouragement. He made his mark on this Earth, and now God has called him home; he will be greatly missed.
Calling hours are from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Hummel Funeral Home, 2800 W. Market St., Fairlawn, OH 44333. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00am, at St. Sebastian Church (476 Mull Ave, Akron). Interment at the Rose Hill Burial Park.
