Robert Browning devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully July 27th, 2025 at the age of 91. Born in 1933 in Chapmanville, West Virginia, Robert lived a long and full life marked by hard work, deep family connections, and quiet resilience. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rubyan Browning; his parents, Archie and Susie (Barker) Browning; siblings Frances Easter and Joseph Browning; his former wife, Betty Browning; and stepdaughter Kelly Wood. Robert is survived by his children, Greg and Robin; stepson Ernie Bailey; and son-in-law Bill Wood. He was a proud grandfather to Andrew (Kristen) StoutHart, Katie (Dave) Hart-Tackett, Adam Bailey, Brian Wood, Jessica Townsend, Kevin Wood, and Erin Cover. His legacy also lives on through his loving siblings Floyd (Donna) Browning, Doug (Eloise) Browning, Libby Pendleton, and Jackie Browning, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Robert's career included positions at Superior Meats, R.G. Drag, and the Ohio State Patrol. Beyond his professional life, he was actively involved in his community and various organizations. He proudly served as a Massillon auxiliary policeman in 1975 and was a longtime member of the Tuslaw Lions Club. He was an active member of First Christian Church in Massillon. His love of cars and racing led him to join the Blue Angels drag racing team, the Antique Buick Club of America and AACA Automobile club, where he found camaraderie and joy in sharing his interests with others. Robert will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, quiet strength, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Funeral will be on Sunday August 24 at 2:00 PM. At First Christian Church in Massillon.
