It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert R. Burke, who left us on May 29, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 6, 1942, in Sullivan, Indiana, Robert was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his warm spirit and love for life.
Robert was a proud Army veteran and dedicated employee who retired from Guide Lamp. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 663. A man of many interests, Bob found joy in fishing, bowling, and coaching women's softball – activities that brought him immense pleasure and allowed him to share his passions with others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Belinda (Morgan) Burke; children, Tammy Burke of Fort Wayne, Michelle Burke of Anderson, Tammy Jarvis of Anderson and Sheri (Michael) Harrington of Anderson; and brother-in-law, Denzil McCracken. Bob was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Amanda, Megan, Matt, James, Shayla, Trishika, Jessika, Justin, Chris, Melvin, and Tias; along with several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill Burke; and sister, Sharon McCracken.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Bob's life on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The service will be held at 1:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana. There will be visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service, where military rites will be performed in honor of his service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to a charity of your choice in Bob's memory.
