Robert Patrick “Bob” Bushnell of Homer passed away at Upstate Medical Center surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the age of 82.
A lifelong Cortland area resident, Bob was born in Cortland on December 31, 1942, a son of the late Lyman and Bernice (Henry) Bushnell. In 1992 he established Bushy’s Pro Shine and operated the shop for many years prior to retiring. Bob was an avid racing fan and enjoyed watching Syracuse University sports. Above all, Bob cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Tara Wilhoit) Bushnell and Kelly (Rick) Randolph; three grandchildren Douglas (Katie) Bushnell, Randall (Jordan) Bushnell, and Niomi Randolph; great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Hudson, Alex, Gabe, Lane, and Chase; siblings, Jesse (Sharon) Bushnell, Ronald “Pete” Bushnell, Anna Mae Buck, Katie Robbins, Stanley “Marty” Bushnell, and Debbie Rangcapan; brothers in law, Donald Bentz and Ed Kowalski; sisters in law, Denise and Sylvia Bushnell; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Bushnell in 2020; sisters, Agnes Metcalf and Ardelia Kowalski; brothers, Arthur and Richard Bushnell; brothers in law, Burt Buck, David Bentz, Dutch Metcalf, Steve Robbins, and Leon Rounds Sr.; and sisters in law Patricia and Charlene Bushnell, and Veris Bentz.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Glenwood Cemetery in Homer. All are welcome for services at the cemetery.
