Robert Deuring Rohrich II (Butch), age 69, passed away at his home in Munroe Falls on November 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Bath, Ohio, he was born on December 6, 1955, the youngest son of Robert and Roberta (Dunwiddie) Rohrich.
Butch attended Revere High School and went on to graduate from the Rochester Institute of Technology, joining the Rohrich Corporation, his family’s 3rd generation commercial printing company, upon graduation. For many years, he and his brother carried on the family business and later continued as a printing broker upon the company’s closure. He was an active member of the Akron Club of Printing House Craftsmen, having served as President.
Butch will be remembered as a guy who loved fast toys: a snowmobile, a car, a boat, and in his younger years, a motorcycle. He was always searching for a way to get them to go faster with varying degrees of success. His favorite place was the Rohrich family cottage on Turkeyfoot Lake. Some stories from his youth there can’t be repeated but in later years he loved taking his kids and their friends on harrowing tubing trips around the lake (“Juice it!”), watching the beautiful sunsets or enjoying coffee on the deck early in the morning. An avid Cleveland sports fan, he often alerted the neighbors of Browns’ and Buckeye touchdowns or Tribe homeruns with hoots and hollers out the back door. His greatest pride, though, was his family. He attended games, performances, created programs, danced on the Civic stage; he was the kind of dad that got in the pool, who showed up when something broke (which they very often did), leaving a legacy to embrace the fun.
Butch is survived by his wife of 47 years Julie (DeLyser) Rohrich; his beloved children David (Erin) Rohrich, Kasey (Dave) Pyper and Shannon (Cory) Hayes, grandchildren AJ, Reese and Baker Rohrich, Joanna and Butch Pyper, Colbie and Clay Hayes and his golden retriever, Sophie. In addition, he’s survived by his brother, Tom (Carol) Rohrich, sister Lynne (Terry) Abramovich, many nieces, nephews and cousins and his treasured 1986 Buick Grand National.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Ballet Theatre of Ohio, (265 N Main Street, Munroe Falls, Ohio 44262), where many fond memories were made. The family would like to thank the staff at Summa Hospice, Visiting Angels and the Ranchwood gang, who provided them with incredible support in Butch’s final months.
Please join the family to mourn, laugh and remember this legendary man on what would have been his 70th birthday on Saturday, December 6 from 2:00-5:00pm at The Venue Banquet Center, 10 Tallmadge Circle, Tallmadge, Ohio.
