Robert Butz, a remarkable soul whose vibrant spirit and boundless love touched the lives of all who knew him, passed away on June 12th, 2023. His departure has left an immense void in our hearts, but his memory will forever shine as a beacon of light and inspiration. Robert leaves behind a legacy of compassion and resilience that will continue to resonate with us.
Born on December 23rd, 1958, Robert was the son of the late Harold Alexander Butz Jr. and Nancy Ruth Butz. Robert was a man of remarkable character. Throughout his life, he exemplified the values of compassion, generosity, and dedication. Robert was a devoted family man. As a father, Robert was an unwavering source of guidance and support. He took great pride in witnessing his children grow into remarkable individuals, instilling in them the values of integrity, resilience, and compassion.
Professionally, Robert was a dedicated public servant for over 34 years. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Maryland. Throughout his successful career in the federal government in both science and information technology, he left an indelible mark through his innovation, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His colleagues held him in high regard for his integrity, intellect, and collaborative spirit. He was awarded a patent on January 25th, 2000, for his work on a new chromatographic method and device for preparing blood serum for compatibility testing. He also served his country honorably as a medical laboratory specialist in the United States Army from 1980 to 1984.
As we bid farewell to Robert, let us remember him for the exceptional person he was-an embodiment of love and compassion. Though he may no longer be with us in the physical realm, his spirit will forever resonate within our hearts. May his legacy serve as a guiding light, inspiring us to live with purpose, embrace one another, and make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.
Robert is survived by his children, brother, sister, and mother: Emily Butz, Jonathan Butz, Harold Butz III, Kristina Peters, and Nancy Butz.
