Robert Joseph Caison, a resident of
Leland, NC passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on November 19, 1945, in Wilmington, he spent his entire life devoted to his family and community.
Robert was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He shared 55 wonderful years with his late wife, Dale Price Caison, operating a cherished thrift store in Wilmington until their retirement. Together, they built not only a successful business but also a loving family and a legacy of kindness and generosity.
In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, Robert proudly served in the North Carolina National Guard, exemplifying his commitment to service and his country.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lela Caison; his beloved wife, Dale who passed away on October 31, 2021, and his daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Caison Cottle who passed away on December 2, 2020. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Penny Caison, who carries on his legacy of love and resilience; his grandsons, Zachery Cottle and Jeremy Flaherty, who brought immense joy to his life; his brothers, Doug, Jack, and Butch Caison; and his sisters, Carol Parrett and Bonnie McDaniel. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish his memory.
A memorial service to honor Robert's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a life well-lived and to share in the memories of this remarkable man.
Robert Joseph Caison will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
