Robert Douglas Calbert, born in Kansas City, Missouri August 21st, 1950, and the son of Lois Gayle Burden Ruttkay and Robert Thomas Calbert passed March 8th, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children. Bob Calbert is survived by his wife of 52 years Marlis, daughter Claire and her husband Todd, son Robert and his wife Emily, grandchildren Collin, Evan, Robert and Kinsley, his brothers Richard and David and their spouses Terri and Kim, along with Nieces and nephews Jason, Sarah, Katie, David, Tracy, Rachel, Megan, and Robert.
Bob spent his life working and providing for his family and spent his retirement giving back to his community. As he embraced photography, he found a way to support and give back to his neighbors. He was a proud supporter of Ridge Point Athletics where his oldest grandchildren attended, and his youngest grandchildren will soon attend. He enjoyed recognizing the young athletes through his photography and social media and received many messages from athletes, parents and coaches thanking him for his time and effort.
After a lifetime of working hard physically for the phone company, it was a gift for him to enjoy giving back on the sidelines to his community while also enjoying his passion. For everyone that he touched through his social media interactions and photos, the family thanks you for the opportunity that you gave him to give something important to those who followed him.
For those who knew him, you were blessed, for those who loved him you were loved and for those who didn't, you have something to strive for as a greater man there has never been. May his body rest in peace, his soul embrace us all and his memory remain forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Bob's memory to your favorite youth sports organization, the Texas parks and wildlife department, or the Lustgarten foundation for pancreatic cancer research so that his legacy may continue to make a positive impact on others.
