Robert Henry "Bob" Caldera

1950 - 2025

Robert Caldera, Bob to many, and "Oley" to family passed away on November 15, 2025. Born on August 24, 1950 in Blythe, California. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Blythe. He was part of the Class of 1968. He also graduated from Palo Verde Junior College in 1970. Oley loved music, he played the saxophone and was in the PVHS marching band. Oley worked at McIntyre Park for over 30 years. What started as a summer vacation job turned into a long career. He was "Big Bob" to all the who knew him while he worked at the park. The last 13 years of his career he spent working as a custodian for the Palo Verde School District, where he retired in August 2015. My brother was always friendly to everyone he met and would go out of his way to help you if he could. He loved working and being around people and his big band music. A celebration of life will be held for Oley at McIntyre Park on March 14, 2026 from 12 noon to 3pm.
