Robert L. Carman

Carman, Robert went to be with his Lord surrounded by family, at Mease Countryside Hospital on July 29, 2022. Born in Freeport, NY, in 1944, he was the son William and Louise Carman. He graduated from Florida State Fire College. He was employed at Oldsmar Fire Department and worked as Captain retiring after 20 years.
Robert was a member of the U.S. Army as a Vietnam Veteran and engineer. He was a member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church and choir, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, council 7109. He will be remembered for the time he spent with his grandson Ryan, who brought him so much joy. He loved life, family, faith, and community, being a resident of Oldsmar for 50 years. He loved to sing and was an avid Ford and NASCAR fan of, awesome Bill from Dawsonville. He was a lifelong mechanic, engineer, building and restoration enthusiast.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, one child Carolann and Raymond Dresch and Grandson Ryan; siblings Tom and Diane Carman of NY, and Linda and Rick Baker, OK.
Sister-in-laws, Joyce and John Zdrodowski, Oldsmar and Karen Sterk and Frank Louderback of Gulfport. He is preceded in death by Father William Carman, Mother Louise Carman and Brother Kenneth Carman.
A visitation will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Curlew Hills Cemetery Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held Monday, August 8,3022 at 10:30 am, at Espiritu Catholic Church. The committal will take place following honors at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens.
