Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Jean Chevalier will be held at 10:00am, February 3, 2026, in the Chapel of Griffin Funeral Home located at 600 Hwy 139 in Monroe, LA with Bro. Charlie Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Northeast Louisiana Veterans' Cemetery in Rayville; LA. Family will accept friends for visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, February 2, 2026.

Mr. Robert Jean Chevalier was born on September 16, 1937, in Glenmora, LA. He joined the Air Force in 1957 and served until 1961. He passed from this life on January 26, 2026, in Monroe, La. at the age of 88.

Robert followed his dad's footsteps working by electrical construction. He became a Journeyman electrician and was a Member of IBEW Local Union 446 for 69 years. His work consisted of much travel for construction jobs. He was a super-intendant for several years with Ford, Bacon, & Davis. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Monroe for 20 + years. He also served on two mission trips in Fort Smith, Montana. In his spare time and after he retired, he loved woodworking and made excellent cabinets and furniture. He enjoyed spending time with his children, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning jellies and vegetables.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Myrtie Chevalier; sisters, Iva Lois and Willa Mae Goodman; brother, Elsie Chevalier.

Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Steven Dean Chevalier of Monroe, LA, Carolyn Dale Hagan and husband Michael of Monroe, LA, and Alesha Michelle Smith and husband Jeff of West Monroe, LA. And friends of the family.

He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jennifer Molosso of Monroe, LA , Joseph Walters of Monroe, LA and River Smith of West Monroe La. Two great grandchildren, Tristen Gooden and Maura Molosso.

Honoring Mr. Chevalier as pallbearers will be Robert Sellers, Joseph Walters, Tristen Gooden, Billy Bogle, Warren Duchense, and Garrison Gillstrap.

The family would like to say thank you to Lisa Moore and the staff of Northeast Veterans Home with special thanks to these wonderful caregivers for their compassionate care to our dad.
