Michael Dwayne Chevalier was born on February 13, 1962, and passed away on February 2, 2026, in the town where he was born, Gilmer, Texas.

A proud resident of Gilmer, Mike, was deeply rooted in his community as a city council member, a proud supporter of Big Brothers Giving Back, Gilmer Parks Board and worked with the young men in the church for many years. He was an avid fan of Oklahoma University, sharing his enthusiasm and spirit with those around him. His love for sports extended into his personal life as he cherished the time spent coaching his grandchildren's little league teams, instilling in them the values of teamwork, dedication, and passion.

In addition to his role as a coach, Mike enjoyed playing fantasy football and golf, hobbies that allowed him to engage with friends and family while pursuing his interests.

Mike devoted 42 years of his life to Upshur Rural, where he held the position of Administrative Services Manager until his retirement.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Chevalier of Gilmer; daughters, Brianne Donaho and husband Justin of Gilmer, Emily Chevalier of Gilmer; brother, David Chevalier and wife Diane of Gilmer; sister, Charlotte Overstreet and husband Stan of Longview; grandchildren, Brynlee and Jace Donaho; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Azell Chevalier and Patricia Means Chevalier.
