Robert A. Chiszar

Robert A. Chiszar, former Mayor of Mokena, age 80 passed away on October 14, 2023. Robert lived in Romeoville, IL. He was a longtime resident of Mokena and Park Forest. Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, graduate of Saint Joseph High School, a Bachelor's in Business from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN and an MBA from DePaul University. He worked for the EJ&E Railway for 28 years. Prior to serving as Mayor of Mokena for 8 years (1997 to 2005), he served on the Mokena Board as a trustee for 16 years (1981 to 1997). Longtime member of the Mokena Lions Club. Former Board Member of the Lincoln-Way Foundation. Former President of the Park Forest Jaycees, and then founded and served as President of the Jaycees Chapter in Mokena. He was an active member of the Rainbow Council, Boy Scouts of America where he served as Council President and VP of Finance and Administration. Robert was an avid golfer. Husband and lifelong sweetheart of Debborah (nee) Zakrocki meeting when they were at the age of 13. Father of Micheal Chiszar, David Chiszar and Greg Chiszar. Son of the late Jean (nee) Borowski and Anthony Chiszar. Brother of Nancy Chiszar, the late James (late Sally) Chiszar and late Caroline (Robert) Runnion.
