Robert Joseph Christiansen

Robert Joseph Christiansen, age 84, of Ammon, passed away February 16, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 28, 1941, in Annis, Idaho to James Duane Christiansen and Rosetta Williams. He attended Annis Elementary School, then Midway Junior High, and graduated from Rigby High School.

Robert worked for local farmers in the Annis area and later for J. Ed. Browning Farms, where he also worked in the mines. He also worked at Lidy Hot Springs and did core sampling. Later, he started his own craft business, R&J Wood and Leather. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, crafts, mountain man rendezvous, and spending time teasing and loving his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Christiansen of Idaho Falls; his daughter, Lori Ann Neal of Rexburg; his son, Rowdy Lance Christiansen and his wife Jennifer of Rigby. He is also survived by his sisters Jolene, Fayanna, Dorothy, and Brenda; his brother Bruce Christiansen; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert James Christiansen; his sister Carma Pelton; and his brothers Calvin and Gene.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, ID 83442. A visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and again Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
