Robert "Bob" Christianson, Bismarck, ND, passed away May 20, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will be held at ND Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan with military honors provided by Amvets Post #9. There will be no public visitation. Robert was the son of Edward and Geneva Christianson, born December 30, 1930, in Kenmare, ND. He graduated from Kenmare High School, and entered the military in the 3rd Armored Division until his medical discharge. He continued his education in auto mechanics. He married Carole Bloom on September 5, 1954, in Lignite, ND. From 1959 to 1999, he farmed and owned Bob's Repair Service on the family farm near Lignite. Upon retirement in 1999, they moved to Minot, ND, where he enjoyed his hobby of restoring vintage tractors, totaling over 160 various models. Robert also enjoyed collecting toy model tractors. In 2008 Robert and Carole moved to Bismarck, ND, to be closer to family. He enjoyed being with his family, taking care of his yard, and the company of his loyal companion, "Bubba". He is survived by his wife, Carole of 56 years; his children, Nancy (Kirk) Pandolfo, John (Pam), Bismarck, Roger (Kimberly), Jay (Michele), Fargo, Daniel, Prescott, AZ; his son-in-law, Vern Larsen, Bismarck; grandchildren, Andrea (Trevor) Pope, Drew Pandolfo, Lee, Trisha and Morgan Christianson, Hope (Joey) Schiele, Sarah, April, Hillary Larsen, Jordan, Kyle and Siennah Christianson, and Sydney Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jaydan Christianson and Karis Pope; sister, Dorothy Hennix, Minot; sister-in-law, Betty Johnson, Scottsdale, AZ; and special friend, Mel Bauer, Firestone, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Rebecca Larsen. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials given to Med Center One Oncology unit or donor's choice.
