Robert James Cogdal

Bob passed away peacefully at home on January 7th, 2026 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Graveside service will be held at the National Cemetery in Fallon, NV on April 10th.

Bob was born in Le Sueur MN and ventured all over as an air force brat. He served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne and came home an honored and decorated veteran, including a Purple Heart. He never missed an opportunity to thank a fellow serviceman for their service. He started his family life in Denver where he married his wife of 59 years Diane. They eventually made their way to Bakersfield, Ca with their daughter and son, Tyler and Jason. After spending 38 years as a Conductor with Union Pacific Railroad he retired and eventually moved to the central coast town of Morro Bay, Ca. One last move to be closer to family brought him to Reno, NV. Bob had a great sense of humor, loved camping and fishing, doing endless projects outside. He loved the wildlife of Northern Nevada especially the wild horses that would roam his neighborhood. He had a love for classic cars, adopting rescue dogs and watching the Denver Broncos play. He greatly enjoyed being with his grandchildren, Justin, Bryce, Tanner and Carver.

He loved greatly and was greatly loved.
