Herbert Klemm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by La Paloma Funeral Services - Reno on Feb. 18, 2026.
We regretfully announce that Herbert Charles Klemm, lovingly known as Herbert, has taken his final flight from this world on February 6, 2026. Born on a chilly December 14, 1937 in the great unknown of New Jersey, he eventually made his nest in the bright, bustling city of Reno, Nevada. Herbert was a man who knew the ins and outs of aircraft just as well as he knew the punchline to a good joke, making him one hell of an aircraft mechanic and an even better party guest. He spent most of his life working in the exciting world of aviation. To quote the great Leonardo da Vinci, "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

He was an inspiring soul who believed in reaching for the sky and pulling others up with him. He had a knack for fixing not only planes but also people's spirits with his supportive nature and quick wit. This smart cookie was not only an expert in aviation, but also in love. He shared a wonderful journey with his beloved wife, Lynda Klemm, and together they built a family that reflected the same love and warmth Herbert was known for.

Herbert is survived by his loving wife Lynda, his cherished children Bonnie Wright, Herb Klemm, Peggy Reynolds, and Robert Rossi, his siblings Elsie Heidt and his dear grandchildren Marie Trovao, Jessica Pinksi, Michelle Dutil, Mikey Dutil, Athena Kollar, Siyanna Klemm, and Gianna Rossi. He was also blessed with a gaggle of great-grandchildren who will continue to fill the world with the same kind of love and laughter that Herbert did. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Klemm and Anna Kolb, and his brother, Ernest Klemm.

His legacy will continue to soar high just like the aircraft he loved. As we fondly remember Herbert, we are reminded of another brilliant quote, "A good laugh is sunshine in the house," and Herbert was indeed our sunshine. He filled our days with laughter, love, and life, and for that, we will forever be grateful.

We encourage everyone who knew Herbert to share your memories and upload photos to the memorial page. His life was a testament to joy, and we look forward to seeing how he touched each and every one of you. Let's keep his memory flying high, just as he would have wanted.
