With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Grace Haunani Ternora, a woman of extraordinary warmth, love, and resilience. Born on November 1, 1949, Grace lived a life full of vibrancy and kindness, before departing from us on July 27, 2025. She resided in Reno, Nevada, where she created a beautiful home filled with joy, laughter, and the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals. Grace was a woman of substance, whose life was a testament to the adage, "In character, in manner, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity."
Grace was a steadfast pillar in the field of education, where she selflessly devoted her professional life. She was known as a beacon of patience, understanding, and encouragement. Her career was not just a job, but a true calling - a calling that allowed her to touch countless lives in meaningful ways. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Grace lived by this sentiment and helped anyone she encountered do the same, leaving a legacy of love and learning that will continue to inspire generations.
Grace is survived by her loving husband-Stanley Sr., her 3 sons-Stanley Jr., Brandon, and Shaun and his wife Gina, along with her 4 handsome grandsons-Shansen, Grasen, Jensen, and Kaisen. Their family bond was unbreakable and it is a beautiful testament to a family love that was always patient, kind, and understanding. Grace was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joseph Quon and Rose Kinoshita, whose values and love shaped Grace into the incredible woman she became. Grace's life was a living example of the quote, "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal."
We invite those who knew Grace to share their memories and upload photos on her memorial page. Each memory shared will help to keep Grace's spirit alive and serve as a comforting reminder of the joy and love she brought into our lives. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Let us remember Grace for the beautiful feelings she invoked in us and celebrate her wonderful life.
