Robert Cook Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richard F. Thomas- Robert W. Little Funeral Service Inc. - McDonald on Mar. 10, 2026.
Robert Allen "Bob" Cook, 66, of McDonald, Cecil Township, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, March 8, 2026 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Bob was born on August 29, 1959 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Thomas D. and Gladys Marie Blanchard Cook.

He was a man's man; he loved to hunt and fish and really just be outside. Bob loved to work on his vehicles and equipment. He fed the deer every night and watched the wildlife like it was his job to keep them safe. He loved to be needed and Bob loved to take care of people. His jokes were either clever or awful. He loved to make funny faces and be as loud as possible. Bob was so loud that his granddaughter, who lived up the hill could hear him yell for her every time she was outside. Living near to his daughter and granddaughter allowed him to create such a special bond with both of them, one that can never be replaced. He was the protector of his family and although tough on the outside a big softy on the inside, especially when it came to his girls.

He held so many titles; restaurant owner (Cook's Family Restaurant in McDonald), heavy machine operator, union painter, and so many more. But what really mattered, he was a friend, a brother, a father a grandfather, and important to everyone that loved him.

He is deeply loved and survived by his daughter, Jessica (fiancé Scott) Acker, granddaughter, Delilah, his sister, Debbie Batey, her children, Nikki and Hollis, whom he shared a special bond with. He had a boat load of friends that loved him dearly. Bob loved his dogs (blue heelers) like they were his children. They got eggs for breakfast every single morning and went everywhere in his truck with him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

All arrangements are entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald (724-926-2800).
