Robert Glenn Coreathers

Robert Glenn Coreathers was born on March 23, 1955, in Weimar, Texas, to the late Dwight and Ella Marie Coreathers. He attended schools in the Weimar Independent School District, where he developed a love for football and proudly played as a student-athlete. At an early age, Robert united with Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Weimar, Texas.

After graduating from high school, Robert married Betty Coleman on July 31, 1976. From this union came their beloved daughter, Dana, who became the joy and purpose of his life.

Robert's strong work ethic was evident throughout his career. He began working at MG, later joined Texas Manufactured Marble until its closing, and eventually continued his employment with UTex, where he remained until his health no longer allowed. Known as a jack of all trades, Robert was gifted with extraordinary carpentry skills and a wealth of knowledge in plumbing.

He also had a true passion for cooking and barbecuing, often playfully tricking his family into tasting different types of wild game he had prepared. A genuine outdoorsman, Robert found joy in hunting and fishing, with deer season always being the highlight of his year. He especially loved sharing these traditions with his nephews and with Dana, teaching them how to hunt, fish, and shoot. These moments of mentorship reflected his generous spirit and his desire to pass on the skills and values he cherished most.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, his brother Herman Coreathers, brothers-in-law Johnnie Johnson and John Howard Lewis, in-laws Clarence & Eunice Bratcher, Shirly & John Axel, and Sally Scott.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Dana Coreathers Williams and husband Julius Williams of San Marcos, Texas; sisters, Gladys Johnson, Ruby Jewel Lewis, and Jewell Coreathers, all of Weimar, Texas; sister-in-law, Barbara Waddle (Robert H. Waddle Jr.) of Columbus, Texas; aunt, Eddie Henry of La Grange, Texas; and his two beloved grandsons, Braxsten and Brennyn Williams of San Marcos, Texas, who were the pride and joy of his life. Robert also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends whose lives were deeply touched by his presence.
