Robert Cort Obituary
After being raised in Union City, Michigan, Robert joined the Navy in August of 1960. During his Naval Career, he served aboard numerous commands and earned many honors for his service of 30 years. Robert retired from the Navy in August of 1990; he worked in the Federal Civil Service for 10 years. After retiring for a second time, he got to spend time with his family and Grand Country Wild Bunch friends. They will never forget his smile and the great times spent creating memories. Robert will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Winona Cort; daughter, Donna Bowersox; brother, Bud Cort; and sister, Lois Shirley.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Velva Cort; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Johnson of Jackson, Michigan; daughter, Barbara Brown of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter, Bonnie Brown of Stanley, North Carolina; son, Bobby (Regina) Cort of Lincolnton, North Carolina; daughter, Carol (Charles) Knudsen of Hollister, Missouri; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
No formal services will be held. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

We loved Bob. My favorite memory was the video taken of him, myself, and my sis, pretending to have fallen asleep during a show at Grand Country! It was all we could do to keep from laughing. He was always so kind and he will never be forgotten. Prayers for Velva, his family, and the numerous friends.
