Mr. Robert Franklin “Frank” Craver, age 85, of Waverly, TN, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born on August 12, 1940, to his late parents, Vincent Ritchie Craver and Flora Lee Sims Craver in Dyer, TN.
A proud 1961 graduate of the Dallas Institute Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Dallas, TX, where he prepared himself for a profession that enabled him to serve others in their most vulnerable moments. His career in funeral services was defined not only by his professionalism, but also by his compassionate heart, offering solace and support to countless families.
Frank's warmth extended beyond his vocation; he was an integral part of the community, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and fellowship. He held dear membership in the Liars Club and the 12 O'clock Group, where he found friendship and joy in the company of others. His sense of humor and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate to know him.
As a member of Waverly United Methodist Church and Methodist Men, Frank fostered connections with his faith community, sharing his time and talents in service to others. His generous spirit touched the lives of many, providing support and guidance with a genuine smile.
A remarkable survivor of the 1978 Waverly train disaster, Frank, was known as the oldest living survivor of that tragic event. His strength and resilience in the face of adversity were inspiration to those around him.
Frank leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering friendship. As we reflect on his life, we hold close memories of his laughter, the warmth of his presence, and the impact he made on all our lives. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
Mr. Frank’s wishes were for cremation.
