Robert Gerald Crickmore

COVENTRY

Robert Gerald Crickmore of New Smyrna Beach, FL passed away in his home on April 26, 2025 after a short time in Hospice Care.

He was born in Willimantic, Connecticut on November 28, 1944 to Alan and Mildred (Hobby) Crickmore. His father died in a motorcycle accident when he was 5 years old and his mother remarried Frank Tabor. He grew up in Coventry, CT and graduated from Coventry High School in 1962. He ran several businesses in Connecticut including the Andover Market, Butcher Block (Willimantic), and the Scotland Country Store. He moved to York, ME in 1987 where he owned the York Corner Ice Cream and Eatery and worked many years at Dave's IGA and later Shaws Supermarket. He moved to Florida in 2018 and worked at the Winn Dixie.

He loved the Red Sox, Patriots, Fords, Old Cars, and was always working on some project to improve the home.

He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Debra (Dahlquist) of NSB, Aunt Faye (Midge) Lee of Southbury, CT, brother, Thomas Crickmore of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sister, Muriel Marrotte of Willimantic CT, brother, Timothy Tabor of Connecticut, son, Doug (and Carrie) Crickmore of Sanbornville, NH, daughter, Christine Crickmore (and Rich) Lemieux of Plainfield, CT, stepsons, Scott Munson of New York City, Chris Munson of Daytona, FL and Ken Munson of Edgewater, FL, 3 granddaughters, 3 great-grandsons, multiple nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, grandparents Alfred & Dorothy (Colman) Crickmore and Harry & Pearl (Heritage) Hobby, brothers, Alan Crickmore & David Tabor, sister, Sherry Hogberg, and grand-daughter, Danielle Perry.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
