Robert Crumley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Posey Funeral Directors - North Augusta on Jul. 6, 2025.
Jackson, SC-Graveside services for Mr. Robert "Bob" D. Crumley, Sr., 87, who entered into rest July 5, 2025, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Jackson Memorial Cemetery with Veterans Honors and Masonic Rites. Rev. Brian Henderson & Rev. Mark Riser officiating.
Robert was a native of Greenville, SC, having made Jackson his home for the past 60 years. He was a 1958 graduate of Parker High School in Greenville and was a member of the 1957 South Carolina All-State football team. As an active member of First Baptist Church Jackson, he was dedicated to loving and serving his church family. He served as a Deacon, was a former chairman of the Deacons, and was a member of the Baraca Sunday School Class. Robert was a US Army Veteran, member of American Legion Post 97, and was a member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #127 AFM. He retired as an electrical foreman and was a long-time member of IBEW Local #1579. Through the years some of the things that brought him joy were trips to the lake and Edisto Beach, taking his grandchildren on golf cart rides, farming, gardening, delivering peaches to the elderly, and delivering Meals on Wheels to the community which he did for 25 years. Pepaw is THE original #1.
Robert was the son of the late George Roland & Lottie Elizabeth Crumley. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen Crumley; two sons Robert D. ( JoJo) Crumley Jr., Jackson, SC and Benjamin Crumley, St. Petersburg, FL; two daughters, Felicia (Patrick) Schneider, Jackson, SC and Hope (Bert) Thompson, Canton, GA; eight grandchildren - Christopher (Nicole) Crumley, Thomas (Erin) Crumley, Taylor Kelly, Nikole Schneider, Carson (Joe Whipple) Thompson, Hubert Thompson, III, Nate (Mikaiah) Thompson, and Cannon Thompson; five great-grandchildren (Isla, Tucker, Max, Aubrey, and Liam); two brothers, Troy Crumley and Mike Crumley, Dallas, TX; a sister, Joyce (Steve) Passmore, Greenville, SC.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church Jackson, Tuesday afternoon from 4 until 6pm.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his home healthcare nurse Tara Reeder for her loving support and care for Mr. Crumley.
