Robert Cummins

Robert Cummins (68) of Universal passed away at 4:34 PM, September 6, 2025. Peacefully and surrounded by his loving family. Born to Donald and Vivian Cummins in Anderson, Indiana April 16, 1957. He was a restaurant manager. He married Karla Thompson, April 25, 1985. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Michelle Summitt and granddaughter Jocelyn Summitt. Mother-in-law: Martha Thompson. He is survived by his wife Karla, one son: Richard Summitt II of Terre Haute. Jon Sanders the father of Karla’s grandchildren; Tanikka (Micah) Corpe and Quentin Sanders and Jocie Summitt (d). One sister; Tanda Suiter (Jack) of Tennessee, nephew; Shane Helvie of Tennessee, three sisters-in-law; Dawn LaFara and Phil Caudill of Linton, IN (they are the love of each other’s lives for 47 years) and Vicki Mitchell of Kentucky. One brother-in-law; Norm (Beth) Thompson of Carmel, IN. (married 55 years). Robert never met a stranger and was kind and giving to all who knew him.

Per his request cremation was chosen without services. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to American Cancer Society. The family of Robert Cummins would like to thank the Visiting Nurses Association and Dr. Jon Wheat and staff for their wonderful care.
