Robert Cunningham Obituary

Robert (Bob) Christopher Cunningham, 64, of Tampa, FL died Saturday, July 13th after a short, unexpected illness.

Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA but spent most of his life in Memphis, TN and later moved to Tampa, FL.

He was a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School and attended Southwest Community College.

Bob was an avid sports fan, especially of the Tennessee Vols football program. Bob loved the Vols so much he found a fan league in Tampa and made new friends who were also Vols fans.

Bob's whole world revolved around his nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with them and keeping in touch with them long distance. He never missed an opportunity to come back to Memphis to visit them.

Although not having any children of his own, Bob and his former wife Lisa became stand in parents for dear friend Abs Mawji, of London, England, while Abs pursued a career in golf in the US.

His love of golf was not just a hobby, but a career for him at multiple golf courses in Tampa, including Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club.

Bob is predeceased by his parents Jim & Joan Cunningham, and brother Jim (Peggy) Cunningham III.
He leaves four beloved brothers of Memphis, TN; Mike (Darlene) Cunningham, Mark (Mary Ellen) Cunningham, John (Joanie) Cunningham and Fran (Alicia) Cunningham.

A memorial will be held in Memphis, TN, at a date that will be forthcoming soon.
