Lisa Leanne Cunningham, 61, of
Corning, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, leaving an ache in the hearts of all who knew her. Lisa was one of those rare souls whose presence filled a room, her laughter, warmth, and genuine care for others made people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her absence is deeply felt, and the love she gave so freely will never be forgotten.
Born on September 14, 1964, in Corning, Lisa was the daughter of Dale and Jeanie (Thomas) Stilts. From the very beginning, she carried a natural kindness and openness that drew people in. A proud graduate of Corning West High School, Lisa's outgoing spirit and love for connection followed her throughout her life.
On December 29, 1985, Lisa married her best friend and soulmate, John M. Cunningham. Their marriage was built on devotion, companionship, and shared joy. Together, they created a life rich in love, laughter, and countless memories, many made simply by being together.
Lisa spent many years working in food service, including her time at Foodmart in South Corning and later at the Riverfront HQ Café for Corning Incorporated. She truly loved her Foodmart work family, forming meaningful bonds with her coworkers and caring deeply for those she worked alongside. To Lisa, work was never just a job, it was another place to connect, laugh, and make others feel welcome.
A true social butterfly, Lisa had a bubbly personality, a big and kind heart, and a deep love for being surrounded by people. She thrived on conversation and gathering whenever possible. Some of her happiest moments were spent with John at the Corning American Legion, where she loved socializing with friends and fellow members who became an extension of her family.
Lisa's love extended deeply to animals. She was a devoted animal advocate and cherished her beloved pups Mazie, Sophie, and Cleo, along with her treasured grand-puppies Madison and Lucas. She shared an especially deep bond with her beloved dog Max, whom she loved unconditionally and who now waits for her once again.
Lisa took pride in herself and in how she showed up for the world, her hair and nails were always done, a reflection of how much she cared about life and the people in it. She loved to feel beautiful, present, and fully engaged in every moment.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Cunningham; her loving children, Amber (Michael) Youmans, Cortney (Evan) Davis, and Randy (Ed) Miller; her siblings, Wanda (Jay) Erb and Randy (Angel) Stilts; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers who will miss her deeply.
Lisa was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Ryan Stilts and Ray Stilts; her beloved dog Max; and other cherished family members who welcomed her home.
