Robert E. "Bob" Curren, 88, died at home on Sunday, April 13, 2025 in Converse, Indiana.
Bob was born on October 14, 1936 in Bedford, Indiana to John W. and Florence (Easton) Curren. He was the second youngest of eight children. Bob was a proud graduate of Shawswick High School. Bob married Carlotta Rush on October 30, 1955. They shared four children. On November 10, 1984, Bob married Mary Neese. Bob enjoyed a long career with the airlines. He began his career with Lake Central, merged into Allegheny and finally merged with US Air before retiring in 1993. Bob worked as a ticket counter agent, ramp serviceman and freight handler while living in Indianapolis, Indiana and Fort Myers, Florida.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary; his son Scott (Mary) Curren and his daughters Lisa (Denise Sorenson) Curren and Laura (Jack) Pierson; his stepsons Rick Jr (Jill), John (Cindy), and Rob (Leila) Neese; grandsons Timothy and Sean Curren and Joshua Meadows; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Bob is predeceased by his parents, his first wife Carlotta, his daughter Sheryle, his grandsons Brendon Curren and Kyle O'Neill, his sisters Frances Wilson, Maxine Scherschel, Colleen Smith, and Jane Atchison, and his brothers John, Everett, and Thomas.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46219. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 25th at 11 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46219 with visitation there from 10:30 am until Mass time.
