Robert Joseph Cuthbertson, (82), of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on July 26, 2024. Robert, fondly known as Bob, was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Robert and Louise Cuthbertson on November 7, 1941.
He was a talented baseball player, having been asked to try out for the Philadelphia Phillies before being drafted into the US Army. His love for learning was fulfilled with three degrees leading him to a career in Procurement Engineering. He loved Ham Radio, collecting coins, brewing beer with his boys, and cooking his famous wings for family and friends.
Bob's loving spirit is carried on by his wife, Marjorie, their children, son Gary, his wife Amy, daughter Kelly, her husband John, son Leo, his wife Sheryl, daughter Stephanie, and son Douglas. His sister Carolyn, her husband Joseph and brother Walter, his wife Sarah. His grandchildren Lane, Ryan, Sarah, Jenna, Chelsea, and Sophia. Many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Preceding him in peace were his parents Robert and Louise, and his sister Barbara.
Bob met and married the love of his life in1966 in New Jersey, where their lifelong journey began. They celebrated 58 years of marriage on July 16, 2024. Bob and Marge raised three children of their own and opened their home to two more children in their teen years, as well as countless others in need of a kind hand and a warm heart. Bob will always be remembered for his love of family, his dry humor, and his infectious laugh.
