Robert Linn Czach was born November 9, 1942 at Manning Hospital in Audubon County, Iowa to Robert G. and Leona Fay Czach. He had fond memories of spending time on his grandfather's farm, learning to drive a tractor and truck at the age of eight to help move the bales of hay. This instilled a lifelong love of cars and he was a huge NASCAR fan. Some of his favorite drivers were Richard Petty and Tony Stewart. Robert owned several high-performance vehicles throughout his life, and loved touring the United States and Canada on long driving trips with his family.
In 1961, he graduated from Santa Monica High School in California, where he ran track and cross country. He met and married Judith Hodde in 1962. Their marriage produced his only son, John. Robert started his professional career in law enforcement, working for the Inglewood Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Detective. He was proud of his work and excelled at his job. He served 37 years before he retired.
In 2001 Robert reconnected with an old junior/high school girlfriend at their high school reunion, Janet Kadera. They married in 2006 and moved to North Carolina, where they built their dream home. They attended Etowah United Methodist and they both served in the Fish and Loaves ministry. Robert went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 24, 2025.
Robert is predeceased by his wife, Janet Czach and his daughter-in-law Leann Czach. He is survived by his loving son, John (Gretchen) and grandson Jacob Czach and Zak Mullenfeld and his wife's children Lorrie Lessnick, Michael Lessnick (Cheryl), Seanna (Danny) Carlisle and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Robert's Life will be held November 22, 2025 at Etowah United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name may be made to Etowah United Methodist Church.
