Robert J. Dahlin

Dahlin, Robert J. Age 80, of Victoria, MN, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 9. He is survived by Jeanne, his wife of 55 years; children, Deborah (Gary) Kreimeyer; John (Jane) Dahlin; Anne (Pierre) Martinez; Mark (Tracy) Dahlin; Amy (Addison) Dahlin; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and siblings and in-laws, Richard (Joanne) Dahlin; Katherine (Sydney)Wright; Maxine (Jim) Christ; Dolores (Richard) Keefe. Bob was a veteran and served as a CIC Agent in the US Army during the Korean war. He returned to MN, earned an MBA from the University of Minnesota and began his professional career. He worked for Northwestern Mutual Life as Eastern Regional Manager for over 10 years. He left to work with Henry T. McKnight on the development of Jonathan, MN, a planned community, now flourishing as part of Chaska. His next career move was to Opus Corporation, where he held various executive positions for over 22 years. He also served as the president of his own company, RJ Properties, for 35 years. His board memberships include: Ameripride, 22 years; First National Bank of St. Paul, 8 years; Opus Co., 20+ years; and President of the Mortgage Bankers of MN. Bob was an advocate and sponsor for the educational, religious, and medical institutions of his community. He was chairman of District 110 School Board and a strong supporter of St. Joseph School in Waconia, Guardian Angels School in Chaska, Holy Family School in Victoria, Blessed Sacrament School in Phoenix, and St. Thomas University, and Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia, MN. Bob loved golf and was a member at Island View Country Club in Waconia for over 40 years, served on the board of governors and was a member of Hazeltine National Golf Club for over 30 years, and was a member of Pinnacle Peak Golf Club for over 20 years. His other pastimes included woodworking and reading. His wisdom, vision, and strength will be missed by all who knew him. A funeral mass will be held Friday, 11 AM in the Historic Church of St. Victoria in Victoria, MN. There will be a reviewal preceding the mass beginning at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ridgeview Foundation (Hospice Services), Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria, or St. Victoria Catholic Church.
