Robert Dains Obituary

Robert L. Dains, 86, of Waynesburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home after a long fought battle with cancer. Robert was born on June 28, 1939, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Roy and Florence Durbin Dains. Known as "Bob" or "Country", Robert lived in Greene County is entire life. He was a 1956 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He was a member of the Waynesburg Moose Club. For 30 years, Robert owned and operated the used car lot "Bob's Country Cars" in Lippincott. He became a licensed auctioneer in 1976. Robert enjoyed being a farmer and operating his saw mill. In his later years and during retirement, Robert operated a golf driving range on his farm and enjoyed flea markets, yard sales, and trips to the casino. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Lee A. Adams Dains; sisters, Cora Stevens, Ruth Waychoff, and Mary Horner; and stepdaughter, Cindi Lee Phillips. He was the last of his immediate family. Robert is survived by his children, Sue Stanley; Robert L. Dains II, Roy (Susan) Dains, John (Abby) Dains, Susan (Ron) Randolph, Forrest (Kim) Dains; stepdaughter, Tami (Jack) Herrod. He had several grandchildren; great- grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements are private and under the direction of the DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 65 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, PA 15401, Stacey A. Dolfi, FD. Interment is private. The family would like to thank nurse Jackie Workman and the entire Amedisys team.
