On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at age 70, Bob passed away surrounded by his immediate family.  Best friend and loving husband of Patty John, amazing father to his children, Jennifer & Dave Yurchak, Jamie & Jason Roach, Stephanie & Sean Dissen, & David Donaldson.  Bob absolutely adored all of his grandbabies- Jonathan & Christopher Wischmann.  Noelle, Ethan, & Gabrielle Roach.  Jordan McMullen & Eli & Anisa Dissen.  Favorite brother-in-law to many – Andrea and Roger Jackson, Donna John, Michael John, John (Shov) Jagielski. Beloved Uncle Bob to many nieces and nephews. Cherished friend and favorite golf buddy to many. Bob was preceded in death by his parents William and Virginia Datig and his sister Barb Jagielski.

Bob was a jack of all trades, he could fix a car, build a wall, landscape, babysit or respond to any request family or friends made. Bob spent as much time as he could playing golf and he was damn good. His love for traveling around the world with Patty kept him always planning for the next trip. Bob’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family - especially around his pool in the summer.  He spent time volunteering when he could, one of his most enjoyable experiences included a trip to Guatemala to volunteer for Habitat.

“We are everything we are because of him.  He was a good man.”

His family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone in the ICU unit at St. Clair Hospital – the love, care, and compassion that Bob and his family received was beyond any expectations.

Family and friends welcome Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 2-7 p.m., WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220, where a service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Bob requested donations be made in his name to PA Tourette Syndrome Alliance (patsainc.org) or the Carnegie Rotary Foundation.
