Gilbert Datig Obituary
Survived by his loving wife Reta, his daughter Michelle and family, his stepsons Ric and family and Chance and family. Also survived by his sisters Marsha, Vicki, Francie, and their families.
Gil spent 20 years in the US Navy as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician. He eventually became an instructor and retired as an Engineman Senior Chief Petty Officer. After his retirement he continued his work with the Navy ships as a refrigeration specialist.
Gil was a loving, generous, and selfless man. He will be missed by his family and anyone who knew him.
The family invites any friends to join them in remembering Gil at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel at 1457 Independence Blvd. in Virginia Beach. The viewing with start at 10am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 with the chapel service immediately following at 11am. There will then be a procession to the cemetery for a full military graveside service at Rosewood Memorial Park, 601 North Witchduck Rd. in Virginia Beach.
