Robert Russell "Bob" Daudelin Jr.

Robert Russell Daudelin Jr., (Bob as he was known) 79, of San Antonio, Texas, entered into rest on January 16, 2026.

He was born in Newark, New Jersey on June 23,1946. Bob was a beloved husband, father, and grandpa. He proudly served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force, where he met the love of his life, Rosalee, while he was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. They met at the officer's club at Fort Sam Houston; he was so smitten he sent her a dozen roses the next day. They were married in 1969 after 6 months of courtship. He and Rosalee shared 56 wonderful years of marriage filled with devotion and love. His Air Force assignments included Randolph AFB in San Antonio, Texas, Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai AFB in Thailand, Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas, and Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. Throughout his military career he met many lifelong friends. Following his military service, he dedicated 20 years to Civil Service before retiring in 2008.

Bob cherished life's simple pleasures, family trips to Rockport, listening to his favorite music, barbecuing, and most of all spending time with his precious family and beautiful grandchildren. He also cherished time with his nieces and nephews.

He loved his daughters Melissa and Erika dearly and was their biggest protector. His support and guidance were unwavering, and the wellbeing of his girls was always his priority.

He is survived by his devoted wife and companion, Rosalee J. Daudelin; daughters, Melissa Ann Brown (Thomas Markham Brown) and Erika Lynn Ruiz (Joshua C. Ruiz); grandchildren, Raul Garza III, Sofia Rose Ruiz, Christian Frank Brown, and Autumn Rae Breig-Ruiz; and his cherished pet, Alistor. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Russell Daudelin, his mother Edna Daudelin, and sisters Beverly Mosco, Joan Mcully and Deborah Fiorillo.

He will be remembered for his deep love of New Jersey, his strong work ethic, and his devotion to the military and honorable service. He will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, the music he loved, his favorite Jersey foods, honesty, and countless stories from his youth.

These memories we will hold dearly and for a lifetime. He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone who loved him.

A memorial service with full military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, February 5th.
