Robert Dayton

ROBERT DAYTON CRNA passed away in his sleep on 9/20/23. He was 80 years old.
Robert was born on May 26, 1943 to Arthur W and Eva Blake Dayton in Oneonta, NY. He was one of eleven children. He spent many years at the Upstate Baptist home in Portlandville before moving to Edmeston and living with the Brooks family. He graduated from Edmeston in 1961. He joined the Navy in October and became an OR tech After the navy, he attended MVCC for his nursing degree and went on to Albany Medical Center to become a nurse anesthetist. He worked at Bassett hospital in Cooperstown for 30 years retiring in 2002. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling and wintering in Zephyrhills, Fl. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and bocce ball.
ON July 18,1964 he married Edith Dudgeon in Utica NY. She survives him. He is survived by his son Arthur W.{Carrie} of Washougal, Wa. and their 2 sons Will and Eli. He is also survived by his grandsons Jason and Andrew of Golden, Co and a granddaughter, Holly of Islamorada, Fl

There will be a celebration of life for Bob and Bobby next summer. In his memory, contributions may be made to the Springfield Fire Department.
