Robert DeAngelo Obituary

Robert Joseph "Bob" DeAngelo, 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on March 8, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.

Bob was born on August 24, 1940, in Glens Falls, New York, to Patrick R. and Cecelia (Russo) DeAngelo. He graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1959 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Bob went on to build a long and dedicated career with the United Parcel Service, where he worked for 34 years before retiring.

Bob enjoyed life's simple pleasures and the company of those around him. In his younger years he was the lead singer of a band and he remained a lifelong Elvis fan who loved singing along to his favorite songs. Bob was an avid golfer for more than 45 years, belonging to several local golf clubs, and spent many happy years boating on beautiful Lake George with family and friends. He also loved visiting the Saratoga Race Course, playing cards, and could complete a crossword puzzle in no time. Bob was also a lifelong Jeep owner, always enjoying the simple freedom of being behind the wheel of one.

More than anything, Bob loved his family. He built a wonderful life with his wife, Teresa "Terry" DeAngelo. Married on September 10, 1998, the two shared a deep and enduring love that only grew stronger with time. Terry was truly the love of Bob's life, and he was hers. In retirement, Bob often accompanied Terry to her real estate showings, simply happy to spend time by her side. Their bond was a beautiful example of true partnership and unconditional love. Bob and Terry shared a love that endured every season of life - a devotion proven not in words, but in the countless small acts of care, patience, and unwavering presence that defined their years together.

Family meant everything to Bob, and in his later years that love was returned to him many times over. As his illness made it harder for him to travel, holidays and special gatherings were often held at Bob and Terry's home so he could be surrounded by the people he loved most. The house would be filled with the joyful chaos of family together, while Bob sat in his chair in the center of it all, quietly taking it in and smiling at the moments unfolding around him.

Though Parkinson's disease gradually quieted Bob's voice in his final years, the warmth he felt for those around him was always evident through his gentle smile and the hugs he shared with the people he loved most.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Cecelia DeAngelo; his sister Roseanne Cook; and his brother Patrick DeAngelo.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Terry DeAngelo; his two daughters from his first marriage, Lisa (Kyle) Hall and Kim (Harry) Ottens; his stepson, Kurt (Riley) Lawrence; his sister Judith (Dick) Seeley; and his brother Gary (Sandy) DeAngelo.

Bob was a proud grandfather to Allison (Brian) Donovan, Joseph Strait, Molly Ottens, and Callan Lawrence, and a great-grandfather to Sage and Jasper Donovan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him fondly.

Bob's incredibly kind heart and his quick wit will be missed, but remembered always. We would love to think that Bob's voice is strong again, singing one more Elvis song with the same joy he carried throughout his life.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Bob's memory may consider a donation to the The Parkinson's Foundation in his name to support others facing this disease.

Dear Lisa & Kim,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Time never seems make your loss feel any less painful but rest in the good Lord that he is in a better place now.
John 14:2-6 NKJV -
In My Father´s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know." Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
