Robert Delgado Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home - New Braunfels on Jan. 12, 2026.
Robert grew up in McAllen, Texas and graduated from McAllen High School where he met his beloved wife. He later attended the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a second major in Physics. Robert was proud to be the first Hispanic engineer hired by Southwestern Bell in San Antonio. Although he chose an early retirement package, he continued to do contract work, allowing him to travel across the country and to Mexico.
Robert was known for his strength, quiet humor, and deep devotion to family. He proudly served his country in his early years and carried those values of perseverance and loyalty throughout his life. Robert found joy in simple moments, especially time spent outdoors and with loved ones. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Robert will be reunited in heaven with his mother Consuelo Gonzales Delgado, father Severiano Delgado, sisters Minerva (Minnie) Delgado Sanchez, Pauline (Polly) Perez, Viola Delgado Ramos, brothers Enrique (Henry) Delgado, Severiano (Sonny) Delgado, Juan Gilberto (Gilbert) Delgado, niece Irene Ramos, and nephews Luis Omar Perez, and Gilbert Juan Delgado
Robert is lovingly survived by his wife Diana Delgado, children Sandra Delgado and Iliana Spaeth, grandchildren Mariela Garcia and Heidi Spaeth, sister Consuelo (Chelito/Connie) Delgado Ortega, and many family members and friends who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts and prayers.
