Robert "Bob" D. Dell’Olio, Sr., 78 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Worcester, one of five sons to the late Joseph and Maria Dell’Olio. He grew up in Worcester where he graduated from North High School and later attended Worcester State College. Bob worked as a software analyst for McKesson for many years before retiring and previously worked for the City of Worcester.

Bob enjoyed walking on the beaches of Old Orchard Beach with his beloved wife Ann and continued to do so to keep her memory alive even after her passing. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casino, Friday nights at Pine Ridge Country Club, gardening, investing, cooking, watching sports, playing bocce at the beach and visiting with family, especially his brothers. Bob was a committee member for the North High School Alumni Association and when his children were younger, he served as president of the teacher’s association at their school.

Bob’s cherished wife and best friend, Ann M. Dell’Olio passed away on July 4, 2014. His loyalty and love for his children and family knew no bounds. He is survived by five children, Robert D. Dell'Olio, Jr. and his wife Julie of Millbury, Matthew Dell'Olio of Worcester and his partner Niki Amell of Auburn, Scott Henrickson and his partner Randall Carmer of Washington, Stacy Sullivan and her husband Joseph of Worcester and Derek Henrickson and his wife Allison Hargreaves of Rutland; eight grandchildren, Ryley, Owen, Makayla, Molly, Brendan, Tatum, Cam and Anna; three brothers, Leone Dell’Olio of Auburn, Joseph Dell’Olio and his wife Mary-Louise of Delaware and Gene Dell’Olio and his wife Elaine of Shrewsbury; many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. He is predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law (also his godmother), Andrew and Eleanore "Derry" Dell'Olio, and his sister-in-law, Barbara Dell'Olio.

Those who knew him were lucky to get his tips on gardening and cooking. He always encouraged everyone to live life to the fullest. He will be missed dearly.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 10:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
