Robert Doyle Obituary
Memorial Mass will be held on January 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Saint Peters Catholic Church on Lady's Island, SC with a graveside service to follow the same day at 12:00 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery.
Robert was born in Worcester, MA son of the late Lt Col James F. Doyle and also late Charlotte Powell Doyle and grew up there and as an Army brat in Columbia, SC. He completed his schooling in Worcester State College and University College Galway, Ireland.
He was a career Marine, retiring in 1973 as a Captain. Robert served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V and two Purple Heart Medals. He was predeceased in 2003 by his wife of 37 years, retired Navy Captain Wanda Doyle. They spent ten years of their life together overseas and traveled widely throughout the world.
