Robert J. "Bob" Durr, 84, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly on April 17 in Marathon, FL.
Born and raised in Syracuse, Bob was the son of the late Edmund J. and Adelaide (Belge) Durr. He attended Holy Trinity and Assumption Schools in Syracuse, St. Jerome's College in Kitchener, Ontario, and Le Moyne College in Syracuse.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years during the 1960's. He was employed as a store manager for Victory Chain and The Fay Drug Co.
In 1980, Bob moved to Bridgeport, where he loved living the lake life, boating, and enjoying water activities. He also had a passion for travel and the RV lifestyle. Alongside his brother, he explored 49 U.S. states and several Canadian provinces.
He is survived by his brother, Edmund J. Durr Jr. of Bridgeport, as well as several cousins and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 7820 NY-298, Bridgeport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Bob will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse, NY.
