Windham - WINDHAM - Robert "Bob/ Ed/ Gramp" William Edwards, 89, passed away at his home Tuesday, December 5th, with his family by his side. He was born February 20th 1934 in Portland ME, a son of Eugene and Serena (Gilson) Edwards.
Bob grew up in Portland, ME, attending Deering High School, and later joined the National Guard where he served as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. Bob worked several jobs including Wirthmore Feed, Maine Egg, and a boiler operator for Saunders Brothers, where he would later retire from.
Bob Built His own home in Windham ME, where he raised his family Dottie, Sandy, Bobby, Tricia, along with many farm animals as he was an avid farmer and gardener. Bob enjoyed fairs all over Maine with his wife of 44 years, Patty, and their grandchildren. Bob was known for enjoying a home cooked meal and reminiscing about "the good 'ol days" as he would say. He also enjoyed watching the New England sports teams, baking pies, drinking coffee, working on his tractors and watching his garden grow.
Bob is survived by his children Dottie Bell and her husband David, Sandy Couvee and her husband Neil, Bob and Tina Edwards. son in law Elton Vazquez, Grandchildren Bobby, Chelsey, Makayla, Elicia, Tina, Tylor, Nick, Hank, Ben, Brandon, Seth. And great-grandchildren Mason, Ahlaynnah, Cameron, Ava, Ellie, Dalaney, Jack.
A funeral service will be held 5pm Friday December 15, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. Burial will be held at a later date at the Arlington Cemetery, North Windham, condolences to the family may be expressed at www.dolbyfuneralchapels.com
