Robert Ekstrom Obituary
WORCESTER – Robert H Ekstrom, Sr., 93, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, 16 April 2025. Robert was born in Worcester in February 1932 to the late Holger and Anna Ekstrom. He was a graduate of Commerce High School. Robert married Concetta Mesale in October 1955 after returning from the Korean War while in the US Army. He was a lifetime member of the Scandinavian Athletic Club, where he played semi-pro soccer for a number of years. He retired in 1994 from Wyman Gordon, Inc. where he worked in the forge shop.
He is survived by his sons Robert H and wife Sandra J Ekstrom Jr (Carlsbad, CA) and Stephen J Ekstrom (Millbury). He also had six grandchildren, Randolph Ekstrom (Lathem, NY), Lee Stephen and Jamie Lynn Ekstrom (Brookline, CT), Steven Ekstrom (Valdosta, GA), Jerry and Amber Condron (Vista, CA), Bobby and Jenna Schlein (Seattle, WA), and Ericka Ekstrom (Brooklin, NY), and several great grandchildren.
It was his wish that services and funeral be limited to the immediate family, and please no flowers. In order to honor his military service to this country, please make any donation(s) to your local veterans’ charity.
