WORCESTER: John M. Shea, 83, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, after a brief illness.
He was born in Worcester to Daniel C. and Catherine (Callahan) Shea. He was a lifelong resident of Worcester. John was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1961. He served proudly in the U.S. Army, stationed in Turkey. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for many years at David Clark Company in Worcester, retiring in 2014.
John was married 41 years to Elaine (Robillard) Shea, until her death in 2008.
John leaves a son, Michael P. Shea and his wife Danielle, a granddaughter, Alivia Manzello and her husband Justin of Spencer, a grandson Colin Shea of Worcester, a step granddaughter, Averie Demers, a step grandson Lukas Demers and a great grandson, Michael David Manzello. He is survived by a brother, Joseph R. Shea and his wife Kathleen of North Grafton and many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents, his wife Elaine, two brothers Daniel Shea and Francis Shea.
Calling hours will be held at Callahan, Fay and Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Worcester, on Tuesday February 10, 2026, from 5-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, February 11th, at St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. John’s Food for the Poor, 44 Temple St., Worcester, MA 01604.
