Robert Elbe Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert F. Elbe, age 79, who departed this life on July 10, 2025, in Berlin, Vermont. Born on August 23, 1945, in Worcester, MA.
Robert was a motorcycle mechanic, sharing his expertise with his father-in-law at Barteau's for many years. Beyond his professional life, he was an avid collector of Fenton Art Glass and a proud member of the Masons and the Montpelier Elks Club. His dedication to his community extended to his membership at Montgomery United Methodist Church, where he attended services with his wife, Vivian.
In his personal life, Robert cherished his family. He is survived by his loving spouse Vivian Elbe, who he married on July 21, 2018; daughter, Wendy Elbe of Hayes, VA, son David Elbe and daughter-in-law Lauren Elbe of Henderson, NV; Step children, Robin Houle and Zina Houle. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughter Lucia Elbe and grandsons Brady and Benjamin Elbe, as well as step-grandchildren Aldona Sanchez Cortessi and Keanu Sanchez Cortessi. Robert was previously married to Linda Elbe for 42 years. Sadly Linda passed away on January 28, 2014.
Robert's legacy will be honored with a memorial service at the Montgomery United Methodist Church, 11:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2025. Following the memorial service, Bob will be interred at his family's lot in the Hope Cemetery in Barre, VT beginning at 3:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects as they gather to celebrate his life and the memories shared.
Robert F. Elbe will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
