Robert Allen Ellertson, 92, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025 at CCH in Hudson. He was the only child to Robert P. and Helen (Hanson) Ellertson born on December 23, 1932 in River Falls, Wisconsin. He graduated from River Falls High School and attended the University of Wisconsin - River Falls for a year. Bob was drafted into the United States Army May of 1953 and was stationed in Germany. He was also a member of the Bayport Legion. Upon his discharge from the military he enjoyed a long and successful career at Andersen Windows, where he was proud to be a member of their Quarter Century Club. On February 16, 1957 Bob married the love of his life Marian Falteseic. Together they were blessed with five children. He worked while raising his family and also spent time farming and enjoyed sports. He supported Hudson Hockey and played old timers baseball and hockey. An avid sports enthusiast he loved hunting and in the fall he would travel to Colorado to hunt elk with the guys! He had a passion for old cars, particularly Chevy's, and cherished country living.

Retiring in December of 1989 from Andersen’s after 37 years, Bob's adventurous spirit thrived through his travels around the world with Marian. They loved Tucson, AZ and bought a winter home there to appreciate hiking around the area. Bob also loved to golf and was able to go to the course anytime while there. They also ventured out and visited most of the Western National Parks on their drives to and from Tucson. However, the highlight of their travels was going to New Zealand (twice) and hiking the countrysides. They also went to Australia, Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, London, Rome, and a few trips to Mexico. They also enjoyed countless cruises together with numerous friends.

In December 2002 Bob had a life altering experience. Due to his love of sports he was invited to Los Angeles with his grandson Sam to see the LA Kings hockey team practice and play. He went ice skating with Sam on the practice rink, fell and hit his head which resulted in a TBI (traumatic brain injury). After emergency surgery and being in a coma they suggested to remove him from life support but the family politely declined. Due to his Norse heritage he pulled through, woke up from his coma (after 3 weeks) and was flown home for recovery. After months of hospitalization and rehab he was able to go home in May 2003. His hiking days were over but his zest for life lived on for the next 23 years!

Bob is survived by his wife Marian; children Kevin (Pam) Ellertson, Robin (Jim) Feyereisen, Sonja (Greg) Hellen, Christine (Keith Fritsche) Ellertson and Robert L. (Tracey) Ellertson. Grandchildren Alex (Crystal), Alisha, Ian (Mya Holm), Jesse (Katie), Jason (Erin), Rachel (Robert), Sam (Caitlin), Natasha (Xiong), Kara (Kyle), Emily (Chase). Great-grandchildren Brayden, Ryker, Isla, Dexter, Adley, Esdon, Anya, Cooper, Paisley, Rhona, Claire; favorite nephew Tim Lewandowski.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert P. and Helen Ellertson.

A private visitation and funeral service for immediate family will be held. Final resting place will be at West Immanuel church with the rest of the Ellertson/Hanson family. A public celebration of life will be held in September for all to attend who was a part of Bob’s life.

Memorials are preferred to the Parkinson’s Foundation (parkinson.org) in Bob’s name.
