Robert "Wayne" English, 61, of Loris, South Carolina, passed away on October 10, 2025. Born in Starke, Florida, on February 22, 1964, he was the son of the late Muril Marie English and Luther Eugene English.
Mr. English served his country with honor, courage, and distinction in the National Guard. After his military service, Wayne was the proud owner of Wayne's Tree Removal Service, where he worked hard and built lasting friendships throughout the community. His greatest love was his wife of 30 years, Cathy, with whom he shared countless memories and laughter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy English; his father, Luther Eugene English; his siblings, Patty Hollifield (Warren), David English (Kim), Ronnie English (Debbie), and Barbara Monnett (Harold); his stepson, Adam Stevens (Kim); grandchildren, Blade Stevens, Kenley Stevens, Joel Stevens (Kristan), and Reid Stevens (Katelyn); great-grandchildren, Pressley, Briggs, Cary, and Carmen; stepbrother, Terry Ward; stepsisters, Belinda Rogers (David) and Tabitha Courtney (Daniel); and nieces and nephews, Joshua Dennison (Katie), Morgan Caldwell (Josh), Ethan English (Kathryn), Kirsten Clark (Tim), Suzanne Long, Jamie English, Courtney Smith (Karl), and Adrienne Stinnard (Chase). He also leaves behind special friends, Chris and Chrissie Booth.
In addition to his mother, Wayne was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janie Rowena Higginbotham; his grandfather, Buford Monroe Higginbotham; his stepmother, Edna English; stepson, Cary Stevens; sister, Vanessa Driggers; and granddaughter, Skye Stevens.
Wayne will be remembered for his joking ways, his big heart, and his love for others. He brought laughter and warmth to everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. David Watts and Rev. Ross Altman officiating.
