Ewell Meredith peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with family by his side. He was eighty-nine years and five months.
Maude Estelle Elliott Meredith and Dillard Watson Meredith became proud parents on September 12, 1936, in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee of a son, Robert Ewell Meredith. Maude and Dillard happily raised Ewell and his sister Sammye Elaine Bell in Only, Tennessee.
Ewell Meredith found his lovely wife, Phyllis Kay Meredith and they happily raised their family in Only, Tennessee.
Ewell was a proud Army veteran. He was a specialist in the 3rd Army Division.
Ewell had a love for many things including: baseball, fishing, rabbit hunting, deer hunting, squirrel hunting, racoon hunting, duck hunting, driving, mowing, watching westerns, playing cards, joking around, cooking, and laughing.
He was a loving, kind, caring man. He loved to make folks laugh and he would do anything for anyone. He loved his family and loved the many friends he had. He will be missed very much.
Ewell had a lot of knowledge to share. He gladly shared his knowledge with his son, Ron and his daughter, Michelle (Gary) Cochran. Ewell cherished his two grandsons, Robert Cochran and Daniel Cochran and proudly shared his knowledge to them. They were like sponges and soaked up so much knowledge from their amazing Pop. Ewell had two nephews, Steve Bell and Keith Bell and one niece, Karen (Johnny) Serra. He also had one great nephew, Eli Bell and two great nieces, Devi Bell and Elli Bell.
At the request of the deceased, Robert Ewell Meredith, the family is granting his wishes. He wanted to be cremated, and he did not want any kind of service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
