IRobert “Robbie” Larry Fackrell passed away peacefully on the morning of January 11, 2026, with his sweetheart, Joey (JoLynn), by his side. He will be dearly missed by his family and the dear friends who meant so much to him. Robbie will be remembered for his entertaining wit, his wisdom about life, his love of the gospel, and his deep devotion to his children.
Robbie was born on February 8, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Severn “Larry” Leon and Rita Adnell Asay Fackrell. He was the oldest of five children and grew up in Hunter on a small farm, where he developed a lifelong love of horses and learned the value of hard work. His mischievous ways were often entertaining—though occasionally a bit troublesome—and became part of the charm fondly remembered by those who knew him well.
He graduated from Cyprus High School, where he excelled in art and wrestling. He later attended Utah State University on a wrestling scholarship, continuing to develop his artistic talents and earning numerous awards for his work. Robbie met the love of his life, JoLynn Petersen, while attending Cyprus High School, and the two began dating during his college years.
Robbie and JoLynn were married on February 15, 1969, and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Their faith was a central part of their lives. Together, they faithfully served in the Church, holding many callings and finding great joy in working in the temple.
Robbie was the owner of Copper Communications, where he took great pride in his work and the people he employed. He deeply valued his employees, mentoring them and building lasting relationships. JoLynn also worked alongside him in the business, and together they created many meaningful memories through their shared work and dedication.
Robbie loved spending time with his beautiful family and made it a priority to create lasting memories. Much of their time was spent in the arena riding, roping, and traveling to rodeos. The mountains were a special place for the family, where many cherished memories were made camping, fishing, riding horses, and enjoying the outdoors together.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to our dad’s hospice nurse, Rose Murray, with Aspire Home Health and Hospice, for her compassionate care and kindness. We also wish to thank the staff at RiverWay Assisted Living for the love, patience, and attentive care they provided to our dad.
Robbie is survived by his wife, JoLynn; his children: Aliesha (Tim), Heath (Leslie), Jodie, and Chance. He is also survived by seven grandchildren—Desiree, Rhet, Trista, Hope, Shawnee, Conner, and Hailey—and one great-granddaughter on the way. He is survived by his siblings: Sharla (Rick), Nolan (Michelle), and Debra (Wayne).
He was preceded in death by two of his children, Jesse Beau and Camie Jo Vigil; his parents, Severn Leon and Rita Adnell Asay Fackrell; his parents-in-law, Joseph and Leda Petersen; and his sister, Mary Ann Hansen (Tom).
One day we’ll all ride away. Until we meet again—love you, Dad.
