Robert W. Feakes, 64, Hawley, MN, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND.
Robert William Feakes, known to everyone as ‘Bob’, was born April 6, 1960, in Minneapolis, MN, to William and Marjorie (Kasper) Feakes. The family resided in Staples, MN, before moving to Glyndon, MN in 1972. After graduating from high school, Bob lived and worked in Carrington, ND, where he was head herdsman for a local ranch. A true cowboy at heart, Bob lived in Texas during the early 1980’s. After a few years of living in Texas, Bob moved back to the farm in 1989.
On April 30, 2005, Bob was united in marriage to Lynette LaRock. They made their home in rural Hawley. Bob loved to work with horses and cattle. He was skilled in handling guns and very talented in leatherwork. He often said, “I grew up in the wrong era”, referring to his love for western style living in modern day times. The farm gave Bob exactly what he needed in life, a rural lifestyle, horses, fresh air, and a small bunkhouse to do his leatherwork.
He was a former member of the Red River Harness Club and enjoyed participating in their events.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lynette; three sons, Gary (Jayme), Daniel, and Erik; his mother, Marjorie Perkins; and siblings, Donna, Nancy, Susan, and Julie; and one brother, Steve.
He was preceded in death by his father William; one sister, Debbie Reynolds; his son, Michael; and step-granddaughter, Lillian Hagen.
A Gathering of family and friends will take place Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 4pm -6pm at Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service of Moorhead, MN. A Memorial Service will begin at 6pm.
